Death Penalty Should be Applied

Issue about death penalty for corruptors, I think it must be release. Why? Because corruption become a habit ! Like nowadays in Indonesia, We can’t count, how many corruptors who stole people’s money. From colonialism, Soeharto’s era, and now it grow so fast and more greedy.

Hot corrupting issue is Akil Mochtar, who leading constitutional court in Indonesia. He proven receive gratification from candidates mayor Banten. Not only Akil Mochtar, before him there are a lot of name who involved in corruption circle. Example like Joko Susilo. He proven corrupt simulator SIM and has a lot of property in different city.

There are also Nazarudin, Gayus Tambunan and conglomeration in Banten Province who Ratu Atut become an actor in it. Corruption become tradition almost in every where related with money. All of that cases, make our country famous because of corruption.

We can see from that issues, Indonesia become the most corrupt country in the world. Depend on Transparency International, Indonesia at the fifth rank corrupt country in the world. How ashamed I am!

According to that data’s. I agree with death penalty issue! Why? Because if the root  of corruption didn’t pull out, it will still corrupt and become deep rooted. So, death penalty should be applied in Indonesia. However, this issue have been applied in China and Vietnam.

As We know that, Indonesia have corruption legislation UU no 31 tahun 1999. In this regulation explain how long a corruptor will be in jail according how much money taken by them. For example depend on that regulation, subsection 11 says “will be jailed minimum one year, maximum five years or criminal fines minimum 50 million, maximum 350 million civil servants or state officials who received gratification related from their authority.”

Based on that regulation, it is not suitable in this era. Because as if we seeing now, many corruptors corrupt more than written in that regulation. What does it mean? It means, our regulation need an amendment. And I think, death penalty for corruptors more horrible, and make them frightened to be corruptor.

Another effort to eradicate corruption are increasing morality and also integrity in every people. We can start it from the kids and be continued step by step. And we hope our next generations will be a leader who have a good mentality and morality to lead our beloved country.

Ada yang tahu integritas itu apa?
baik.. untuk kali ini aku mau nulis mengenai integritas.

kata ini awalnya asing banget di telingaku. namun setelah masuk kuliah serta mendapat mata kuliah PIP atau pengantar ilmu politik, semakin tidak asing dengan kata integritas itu sendiri. Dosen ku yang bernama Dr Phill Lukas Ispandriarno yang selalu menyebutkan dan memaknai kata integritas tersebut dengan baik. Beliau adalah bapak Integritas bagi saya dan mungkin bagi kampus FISIP Atmajaya.

apa sih itu integritas? integritas itu adalah keselarasan antara apa yang diucapkan dengan apa yang dilakukan. secara sederhana itu adalah arti integritas. namun jika terus melihat integritas itu juga sama halnya dengan patuh terhadap aturan. seperti contoh sebagai mahasiswa hendaknya selalu mengikuti pelajaran kuliah di kelas. namun, kewajiban mahasiswa tersebut tidak dilakukan dengan baik. malah membolos dan melakukan hal lain. ini menurut saya juga dapat dikatakan melawan integritas diri. bagaimana kewajiban mahasiswa yah harus dijalankan dengan baik.

Pengertian integritas menurut kamus Webster :
1. The state or quality of being entire or complete; wholeness; entirenes; unbroken state ; as , the integrity of an empire or territory.
2. Moral soundness ; honesty; freedom from corrupting inflluence or motive;-used especially with refernce to thefulfillment of contracts, the discharge of agencies, trust, and the like ; uprightness ;rectitude.
